About Blast Cleaning

Blast cleaning is the most effective way to clean most surfaces of dirt, grime, rust or paint. Jalna Blast have progressed by being competent and reasonably priced which makes us popular blast cleaners in Middlesbrough and Teesside as well as throughout the North East. We have blast cleaned all types of surfaces using different types of media, and have found the optimum methods in blast cleaning and surface preparation. So... Whatever surface problem you have, we can resolve it. We also undertake sand as well as soda blasting. All of our equipment is mobile should you want the blast cleaning/sand/soda blasting done at your premises or if your project is too large you come to our workshop.

Soda blasting is a non-destructive method for many applications in cleaning, paint stripping, automotive restoration, industrial equipment maintenance, rust removal, graffiti removal, molecular steel passivation against rust, oil removal by saponification and translocation, masonry cleaning and restoration, soot remediation, boat hull cleaning, food processing facilities and equipment. It will not damage most base materials comprising the body structure, i.e. steel, aluminium, fibreglass, mouldings, asphalt, window glass, etc.

Without a doubt soda blast cleaning is the safest and gentlest form of blast cleaning. This method uses ordinary baking soda to clean the surface.

The soda cleans through effervescence rather than impact. It will not harm glass, wood, rubber seals, plastic and most other surfaces, making it possible to clean components in situ, without the need to disassemble. It also cleans without generating heat, so there is no distortion to fragile components and car body panels.

If the paint from this a of coke can be removed by soda blast cleaning at 60 psi without any distortion, you can rest assured that your project is in safe hands. We can even turn the blasting pressure down to 30psi when needed.

Another problem that arises when conventional methods are used to clean engine components is the problem of spent media in the oil galleries, whereas soda is completely water soluble. Soda is a non hazardous food grade material that is 100% water soluble and environmentally safe.

Sometimes a harder media is required to remove certain coatings. Soda is perfect for the delicate touch but will not remove rust, thick stove enamel and certain other coatings. Here we use a number of different media but even when the going gets tough, we can still use a delicate touch. We can blast clean a very fine, hard media at remarkably low pressure, ensuring minimal damage to the underlying surface. This allows us to blast clean, for example, rusty sections of a car bodies and parts without risk of distortion or deformation. We also use this harder media for cleaning very delicate stonework and intricate carvings, retaining the fine detail without damaging the original stone. Whatever the application, we can usually come up with a solution.

Our blast cleaning services are mobile so we can come to you, although you can still come to us if needs be. We cover the whole of the North East including Middlesbrough, Teesside, Newcastle, Sunderland, Tees Valley and more!
